Lottery Process for the 2018/2019 school year

Garfield STEM Lottery Process

 

Garfield STEM School is an APS Neighborhood Magnet School. Students who live within the boundaries of the Garfield STEM sending area will be able to enroll and attend Garfield STEM without participating in our annual school lottery. All APS policies and procedures regarding enrollment in a homeschool apply.

Students who would like to attend Garfield STEM School who do not live within the boundaries must participate in the lottery. If you would like to participate in the Garfield STEM lottery, please fill out a Garfield STEM School lottery application form online, https://goo.gl/forms/KK3LkAjTtEmt6A343,  by 3:30 pm on February 09, 2018.

Here is an outline of how the process will proceed:

  • All lottery applications must be submitted by 3:30 pm on February 09, 2018
  • The school lottery will be held on February 13, 2018
  • Families will be notified of the lottery results by February 21, 2018
  • The family of a student who has been offered a slot for the 2017/2018 academic year must accept the offer by March 7, 2018. 
  • If a slot has not been accepted by March 7, 2018, it will be offered to the next family on the list drawn in the lottery.
