Nurse

Welcome to the garfield stem Magnet School Health Office!

We are here for you during virtual learning and small groups

Do you have questions about immunizations, management of chronic illnesses, medications, community resources, or any other health-related issues?

We are available during school hours (8:10am - 3:10pm) Tuesday through Friday.

Small groups will begin on March 9th. If your student is one of those that is returning please know that the health and safety of our students and staff is top priority. In order to keep everyone safe, students will be required to:

  • Screen for possible COVID symptoms and take their temperature daily before coming to school. Students should stay home if they exhibit any symptoms or have a temperature of more than 100.4 degrees.  SEE BELOW FOR QUESTIONNAIRE LINK.
  • Bring their own mask and wear it whenever they are at school (extra masks will be available at school for students who forget theirs at home.)
  • Adhere to social distancing requirements, meaning they should be at least six feet apart.
  • Wash their hands often (soap and hand sanitizer will be provided at school.)
  • Bring their fully-charged APS-issued device (Chromebook or iPad) to class with them every day. In addition, please bring headphones, Chromebook charger, and a water bottle. Students cannot drink out of the water fountains but we have water bottle fill stations now.
Keep illness at home

Students who are feeling ill should stay home.

If a student becomes ill or is injured at school, they will be sent to the Health Office and parents or caregivers will be contacted by the School Nurse or Health Assistant.

Keep contact information up-to-date

If your child is ill or injured, it is essential for us to be able to get in touch with a parent, guardian, or other emergency contact.

If you change your email or phone numbers, please update your contact information in ParentVUE.

Student health conditions

Please let us know if your student has a chronic health condition, a health concern, or injury so we can work with you to keep your student healthy during the school day.

Medication Policy

Please call the nurse to discuss any prescribed medications that may need to be taken at school and complete the provider authorization form.

Students are not allowed to carry medication on campus without the proper authorization form on file.

Please call us with any questions.
