Engineering the Future (Our STEM Focus)

K-12 Magnet School with a STEM Focus

Albuquerque Public Schools offers a STEM-based pathway for your child! This free K-12 magnet program offers exploration in science, technology, engineering and math. Engineering the Future presents opportunities for scholars to learn through the framework of science, technology, engineering and math to develop problem-solving, creative, and collaboration skills. Engineering the Future is made possible by a $7.8 million grant from the Department of Education. The pathway utilizes Project Lead the Way curriculum, a renowned program with a computer science and engineering strand.

By creating a K-12 STEM Pathway, Albuquerque Public Schools is offering an excellent opportunity and creating comprehensive programming for scholars in Engineering the Future. A first-of-its-kind option for the district, Albuquerque Public Schools' scholars can pursue a strand throughout their education and develop strong habits in discovery learning. By taking design-oriented approaches to problem solving, scholars gain comprehension across all grade levels in STEM principles.
